1. Who we are

EnglishCorrection (“we”) operates englishcorrection.site and provides quality-assurance services for English-language test materials. For data submitted with an order we act as processor under our Data Processing Agreement; for data described below we act as controller. Contact: office@englishcorrection.site.

2. What we collect and why

• Quote and order data — name, work email, organisation, VAT ID, uploaded files. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Kept for the duration of the engagement and statutory invoicing periods.
• Correspondence — emails you send us. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering you. Kept 24 months after the thread closes.
• Certificate register — certificate ID, scope, dates, reviewer name. Published at /verify by design; scope descriptions never include student personal data.
• Server logs — IP address and user agent, kept up to 30 days for security. No advertising trackers, no analytics cookies.

3. Student work

Scripts and recordings submitted for marking contain student personal data. We process them only on the client's documented instructions under the DPA, pseudonymise where the client has not already done so, and delete them 60 days after delivery unless the DPA specifies otherwise.

4. Sharing and transfers

We use EU-hosted infrastructure for storage and email. We do not sell data, and we share it only with subprocessors listed in the DPA annex. Transfers outside the EEA, where they occur, rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to office@englishcorrection.site with subject “Data protection”. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
